Karen composed this imaginative choral piece for the popular CD and music collection Songs of Saints and Scholars (WLP 007336) by the University of Notre Dame Folk Choir. The Trinitarian text is adapted from Carmina Gaedelica, a collection of prayers, hymns, incantations, blessings, and other literary-folkloric poems. The lilting melody is supported by the keyboard’s effective use of running eighth notes under the intuitive chordal vocal harmonies. The flute’s Celtic-inspired tones add just the perfect touch of charm.
