A noble, simple, and accessible new Mass setting based on the popular hymn “Where Charity and Love Prevail”.  Arranged for unison choir, descant, cantor, C instrument, guitar, and keyboard.

I liked Mass of Charity and Love on first listening, but didn’t really get a good sense of it until I sang it through myself.  I was really struck by how beautifully it works.  In singing it, I found it really was very intuitive and felt a sense of prayerfulness and energy which I didn’t catch by simply listening.  The tune is a fascinating choice.  I feel it carries an almost prophetic undertone: contemplating “where charity and love prevail, there God is ever found” while singing the Mass binds us together in Christ’s love.  What a powerful unifying notion! — Katharine E.
