Dr. Gerado Ramos grew up in the Church. He possesses both a profound love of God and music. He was involved in music ministry from a young age before getting his undergrad in music. He increased his knowledge of the Liturgy during his time at seminary. He has conducted and written his own SATB, orchestral transcriptions, and arrangements for various parishes, as well as for other diocesan ordinations and celebrations. He started a pilot project of hosting a Catholic radio show for teens, which eventually became a full television show called "Mundo Nuevo" (New World) where deeper topics in theology and spiritual life were discussed. He has sung internationally as an opera singer. He pursued his masters and doctorate program at UT Austin. Dr. Ramos has also entered many international competitions and has received much accolade. While still attending at the university, he worked as cantor and conductor at St. Peter the Apostle Church for nine years. Dr. Ramos has dedicated much of his life as a Pastoral Musician. He worked full-time at St. William Catholic Church in Round Rock, TX as Director of Music Ministries for eight years. During this time, he participated in a great number of events, such as singing, conducting, and participating as speaker for the Diocese of Austin and the Hispanic Pastoral Musicians Conference/SWLC. In 2016, Dr. Ramos was also able to fulfill his life-long dream to sing for Pope Francis during his visit to the U.S.-Mexico border. Dr. Ramos' deep passion and desire for beautiful liturgies and sacred music has led him to collaborate with other publishers, which eventually brought him to WLP as the Spanish Music Editor.
