The parable of the unforgiving servant (Matthew 18:21-35) inspired Ken to write this contemporary folk-style piece that calls us to pardon offenses and reflect God's presence. The verses make use of cantor and two-part women's choir and the refrain features SATB choir. The well-crafted oboe line gently soars over the minimal instrumentation.

"Macek's text, based on Matthew 18:21-35, speaks of our need to forgive each other. The antiphon-verse structure features a variety of choral textures that sustain interest. The oboe descant adds to the poignancy of the musical setting." — Rudy Marcozzi, Pastoral Music, August-September 2007
