This graceful and flexible arrangement of a work by Benedetto Marcello allows even small choirs to sing a well-crafted anthem with ease and success. The two voices can be assigned to soprano/alto, tenor/bass, or women/men. Larger choirs can make use of this piece by varying the voicing for different sections of the piece.

The opening section presents interesting interplay between the two vocal parts in a series of petitions for increased faith. The musical character changes to praise, and seamlessly returns to the first section (da capo) to complete the classic form. Dale Grotenhuis' lovely arrangement makes the most of this fine music and text.
