Rory Cooney is the director of music and liturgy at St. Anne Catholic Community in Barrington, Illinois. In addition, he gives concerts and workshops on liturgical music, and works on initiation and reconciliation institutes with the North American Forum on the Catechumenate.

His compositions, represented on a dozen recordings with three publishers, appear in a wide variety of hymnals and missalettes, including We Celebrate and Voices as One. His most recent collection is Christ the Icon, published in 2005 by World Library Publications.

In 2006 Rory was honored by receiving a Unity Award from the United Catholic Music and Video Association (UCMVA) for Sacramental Song of the Year - his MASS OF ST. AIDAN!
