Mike worked as a teacher and youth leader for many years. Joanne became music director of Soli House in Stratford-upon-Avon, where Mike eventually worked as a music coordinator.

They partnered professionally in 1996, and are frequent presenters in the United States at the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress.
