Christine Ondrla has worked in religious education as catechist, parish organizer, and catechist trainer for over 35 years. The last 12 of these years she has been Director of Religious Education at Ascension Church in Oak Park, Illinois where she has also had the experience of preaching. For four of these recent years Christine has been involved with the catechetical program for very young children entitled Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.

Christine has presented her knowledge and experience at national conferences, diocesan training sessions and parish leadership/training days specifically in the area of sacramental preparation.

Christine is married with three children and has taken post-graduate courses at the Catholic Theological Union. She completed an earlier degree from Loyola University in Education and Theology, as well as completed her Masters in Religious Education at the Institute for Pastoral Studies of Loyola University.

Christine is a recipient of the 2005-2006 Religious Educational Excellence Award for the Heartland region, sponsored by the National Association of Parish Catechetical Directors (NPCD), and presented to her at the 14th Annual NPCD Convocation, April 18-21, 2006.
