Lisa Bagladi's professional ministry in arts and spirituality combines dance and music as a pathway and practice for embodied transcendent prayer. Her holistic workshops and classes teach mental, physical, and spiritual methods for people of all levels, to incorporate prayer, meditation and contemplation into a regular health-fitness routine. Whether walking, running, dancing or moving, all can experience a deeper connection and communication with God through a mind-body-spirit approach.

Lisa's background includes dancing and teaching professionally for twenty years in the Chicago area. She performed with La Ferlita Dance Company, where she served as artistic director, performed with Outabounds Performance Company, and was featured as a guest soloist for several Chicago area ballet company productions. After receiving her college dance education from Western Michigan University, Lisa studied under renowned Chicago teachers including Larry Long of the Ruth Page Ballet Foundation, and Lou Conte, founder of the Hubbard Street Dance Company.

Lisa started playing flute at age nine, and she continued to play and study music all of her life. She was an instrumentalist for St. Anne Catholic Church in Barrington, Illinois, under the direction of Rory Cooney. She also played throughout the Chicagoland area with various ensembles, orchestras, and groups.

Lisa's passion and call for ministry in the church led her to continue theological and liturgical study. She completed a certificate in pastoral ministry from Holy Family Parish's CALLED program in the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Her liturgical dance training began through the campus ministry office at Western Michigan University and continued on with intensive study at Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, California. Lisa founded the Living Arts Ministry at Holy Family Parish in Inverness, Illinois, and led it for several years. There, she encouraged and mentored artists in the community, and incorporated dance into the ritual and prayer. In addition, Lisa has led master classes through the Sacred Dance Guild and churches in the Chicago area.

Lisa is a Parish Consultant at the J.S. Plauch Company, Inc. (World Library Publications' parent company) and enjoys "getting the word out" about all of WLP's wonderful offerings!

Lisa resides in Irvine, California with her husband Tony and daughters.
