Richard A. Cheri lives with his wife, Cynthia, and son, Richie, in New Orleans, Louisiana, his birthplace. Having taken advantage of several educational programs, Richard has acquired a bachelor of arts in psychology, a master of arts in theology, and a master of science in teaching mathematics. Besides being an adjunct professor of mathematics at Loyola University in New Orleans and on the faculty at the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University, he presently teaches mathematics at Destrehan High School in Destrehan, Louisiana. Richard also serves as the minister of music at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, is the coordinating director of the Archdiocese of New Orleans Gospel Choir, and is chairperson of the Archbishop James Patterson Lyke Liturgical Conference in New Orleans. Along with Jalonda Robertson, Richard has composed and arranged several songs produced by World Library Publications, many of which are featured on the recording Good Ground.
