Jeff found his inspiration for this musically rewarding choral work in the description of the "peaceable kingdom" in the second and eleventh chapters of Isaiah.  The unique vocal texture in the refrain features a bass ostinato on the text "Dona nobis pacem" supporting the three-part setting of the Isaiah text.  Listen for the ingenious musical reference to Handel's Hallelujah Chorus from Messiah.  Your soloists will enjoy singing these verses as they alternate musical phrases with the choir.  The cheerful flute line and percussion pattern set the mood at the start and it just keeps getting better!
