You Have Put on Christ

A delightful, practical piece for the Easter Vigil, Easter Sunday, and celebrations of Baptism. Waddell sets this familiar baptismal text to a joyful, easily-repeated melody. The four-part harmonization of the refrain, hummed by the choir, becomes the foundation over which soar six verses for solo soprano. Yet the refrain stands alone as an acclamation; and, with choir or without, the piece extends as needed to cover the changing of drenched newly baptized, the sprinkling of the assembly with baptismal water, the return of the assembly from the baptistry for the Liturgy of the Eucharist, or even the Preparation of Gifts. The piece sings equally well with organ and with piano and guitar. Parts for optional handbells and cello allow for variety and embellishment.

You Have Put on Christ - Galipeau

In this compelling resource, Dr. Galipeau sets the stage by recounting his own faith journey, and then presents a process that leaders can use with the people in their communities to help them become more aware of their own faith journey and the foundational role that their Baptism plays in it. The included CD-ROM provides a leader's guide to the service and music suggestions.
