When Pope Benedict XVI visited the United States for the first time this April, World Library Publications and the J.S. Paluch Company were thrilled to share in the celebration in a variety ways.

John Angotti performed for the pre-Mass gathering at Washington Nationals Park on April 17, along with Spanish tenor Plácido Domingo and American mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves.

At Nationals Park, John performed the title track from Stand in the Light and the song “Feed My Lambs” from his new CD Joy Beyond Our Dreams.

When Pope Benedict XVI processed to the altar for his first U.S. Mass in Washington, DC, it was to music arranged by WLP composer Paul French. Paul’s Concertato on Grosser Gott: Holy God We Praise They Name is a festive work for chorus, congregation, brass quintet, and percussion.

Richard Proulx’s concertato setting of Lucien Deiss’ “All the Earth”was used as a communion song at the DC Papal liturgy and Mike Hay's “Trilingual Intercessions” was used at the DC liturgy and both NY liturgies.

Joe Simmons served as a psalmist for the Papal Mass in Yankee Stadium on Sunday, April 20. Joe is the author of the forthcoming book The Work of the Cantor: Proclaimer of the Word, Leader of Prayer, part of WLP’s WorshipWorks series of practical guides for liturgy.

Liturgical Organists Consortium member Jennifer Pascual served as music director for both NY liturgies and is a distinguished member of the Liturgical Organists Consortium, who works in collaboration with WLP.

Finally, the J.S. Paluch Company (WLP’s parent company) printed and donated the 50,000+ programs that will be used for the Papal Mass, as part of our ongoing support to the Catholic Church community at large.

We are excited and honored to have been such an integral part of these historic and faith-filled occasions!
